NEWS : PSP PocketMac

i-tunes on your PSP?

PocketMac software has been announced allowing the people with Sony PSP to play itunes, Sync their address books and view their iPhotos.

The software can be downloaded for $9.95 from the IAA site,
Seems that Apple have seem the potential of the PSP and decided to step in, No doubt we will see other software from them in future.
Expanding the reach of itunes was a great step for Apple, itunes software is also finding its way onto mobile phones.
Its nice to see more and more companies getting involved with PSP software development.
In my opinon this is what Tapwaves Zodiac lacked.
But this time around its a brand name and has software gaints backing the hardware, If the steps are taken right PSP will be known and owned just as highly as the original PS was.

NEWS : PSP Dead Pixel problem fixed

Sony PSP - Dead Pixels

So many people were worried about the Dead Pixel problem on PSP,
Well now Sony have offered to fix the problem.
Sony says if your PSP has a couple of dead pixels to send it back to them to be fixed for free at only the expense of the shipping charge.

So it seems that the pixel problem was just a minor hitch for the PSP launch.
:-)
One less thing for DS fanboys to argue against.

NEWS : PSP line's going round block

PSP line's going round block

When PSP went on sale in North America at 12:01 a.m on Thursday there were huge lines of PSP hungry fans at every open games store hoping to get their hands on one. Its not even as if the devices were on discount, They were $250 dollars a pop. No doubt many Hard-core fans didn't get their hands on one even after waiting in queues as many of the PSP's were pre-ordered in advance and were gone before anyone else had a chance.

It seems the race between the DS and the PSP is finally taking place however late PSP is in the game.
When the device finally hits Europe it will really take effect as there's huge numbers of fans right here in the UK waiting to get their hands on a unit eagerly.
Though It seems people here are importing them from Japan as the wait is just far too long .
Official Launch is still months away, We're always last to get things...
But lets not forget "Good things come to those who wait"....yet I cant help but think better things come to those who don't, America got the DS and PSP months before us...

Throughout all this I'm sure companies like Lik-Sang are selling PSP's just about as fast as their getting them, Lik-Sang exports more goods then any other games company I know of. It seems a shame that Sony decided not to do a worldwide launch at the same time or even around the same time.

I for one would really like to see sales figures of the PSP in a week or so, I believe it has done better then DS at launch in north America, though I could be wrong only time can tell...

Kyle Poole - The Story

How long has it been?

A year or so since Kyle Poole owner of Crimson Fire had promised
the world of a GBA emulator on the Zodiac handheld. Since then he had promised to release the emulator at
full speed for all those who had paid in advance.
He also made claims that he would go up against Nintendo in a legal pursuit if he had to over the emulator
after receiving multiple threats from Nintendo.
He posted on his own forum once every few months concerning the progress of project GBAZ, people Obviously got pissed at this.
After months and months of waiting for this perfect hyped up product we found that someone else had taken over
Crimson Fire and we still had no word from GBAZ. Wether this was Kyle Poole under a new name or not we did not know.
Soon after we saw the first bits of progress as Crimsonfire posted a version of GBAZ under this new management.
It did not run very many games and only at 50-60% speed and the software was very restricted, This was a commercial product I remind you.
So after a year of waiting was this worth it?
Hell No!
Was there an alternative? Yes.
Whilst in the meantime a free programmer, Yes thats right free programmer named Yoyofr created a GB/C, Genesis, Snes, Wonder Swan, Neo Geo
emulator for the community of Zodiacgamer.com all in return for a Zodiac console donated by the community themselves.
You see the community of ZodiacGamer had put hard earned dollars together and bought 2-3 Zodiacs so that programmers could create
free software that could be used on the Zodiac, One of them had found itself luckily YoyoFr.
His emulator was called LJZ, It stood for Little John Zodiac I believe.
He would update the software sometimes every other day with significant changes done each and every time.
Now the emulator runs at near full speed from what I know and runs the majority of roms, Sure it may not be
a GBA emulator but it does emulate just about every other handheld that was on the market and thats enough to
keep you entertained for a long time. This was purely because he felt he would not emulate a handheld thats currently still
running on the market from what i belive.
So thats why many of us hope now with the launch of DS he may think about a GBA module to his LJZ.
At the same time you do have to remind yourself that the DS is not the follow up to the DS though many do feel so.
The successor is named "Evolution" and has already been announced by Nintendo, No doubt this would even be on the market till late 2006.

Anyway rounding up Maybe after this new management at CF and a couple of more months GBAZ will be near perfect, But what about all
those people that paid when it was first announced?
God they must really be straggling themselves right now.
Half have already sold their Zodiacs on to buy PSP's, After getting bored with software content currently on the Zodiac..
Who can really blame them?

Thanks Crimson Fire

Rumor: GP64

The GP64 Rumor

We've been hearing things about the GP64 for awhile now and then suddenly it went quite a month ago.
And then later today we got an email from someone who wishes to stay annoymous calls himself "Zeek" and claims the project is currently still is still in development, He states that he wishes to clear things up and the project is still in "phase 2".
He states that he currently works for GamePark and that the GP32 successor is being developed under codename "K.A.S.H.M.I.R".
He goes on to say the hardware is similar to that of the PSP, yet includes a intergrated camera and touch screen.
He goes on to Claiming it will monopolize the market and crush both the PSP and DS this sounds like the words of a Fanboy.
Now anyone can claim he/she works for GamePark and claim that he/she knows whats going on in the inside,
We here do not promote people to post useless rumors we will go on and try and get hard proof of his status before we will call it official here.
I for one would like to see pictures of concept ideas the company has come up with if aloud by GamePark.

I have asked him for an exclusive interview on a Chat client, I hope to find out wether this is just a Fanboy or something more.
If he bails I think we can all presume it was foney..:-/
It would be pretty exciting to see whats going on in the hardware point of this new handheld.

We'll bring it to you as it comes.

DS UK Launch

Well I was walking around the streets of London yesterday the day of the DS launched.
It was amazing to see how many people were awaiting in lines for the DS.
Gamestation even had a deal going saying you could get a DS in exchange for a Gameboy SP and two games.
At the same time they had a second hand SP and two games for £70...So by logic you could just buy one off them and trade it back to them and save a good £30...
:-/
The amount of talk I heard yesterday about DS was amazing, Its just suprising most people dont even know about "Evolution" its just not mainstream knowlege.
Hopefully they'll be more on the "Evolution" handheld device by Nintendo at E3.
Its no rumor anymnore, The Evolution is the next in line going on from the Gameboy SP, Most people think that the DS is the new gameboy.
Thats just not true, This has even stated by Nintendo themselves.
DS is just a new way of playing.
Nintendo will be coming out with a one screened solution around 2006 around the time of the next generation of Zodiac models.

The DS launch is doing very well in the UK, from what I heard most shops are out of stock already.
So just imagine the impact Sony's PSP will make in a couple of months.
