NEWS: Sony PSP Giga Pack Comes to USA and Europe
Sony PSP Giga Pack Comes to USA and Europe
Sony announced the new Sony PSP Giga Pack besides in Japan also for the United States and Europe.
So, Sony thinks the new Giga Pack will help sell the additional 3 mio. Sony PSP consoles in the United States this Holiday Season.
The Sony PSP Giga Pack includes the PSP System, a 1GB Memory Stick PRO Duo, battery pack, AC adaptor, USB Cable, and an all-new PSP Stand.
The PSP in the Giga Pack will already have firmware 2.0 (not the new 2.5) pre-installed.
The Sony PSP Giga Pack will sell for $299 starting in November in the US.
I is disappointing that Sony is not releasing the white PSP outside of Japan. The Giga Pack would have been a neat opportunity.
In Europe the MSRP is €299.99 (£214.99) for the PSP Giga Pack. It will be available in the UK and Ireland on 21st November and throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa on 28th November 2005.

My thoughts:
I thought it was pretty smart for Sony to put pre-install the new firmware to the new PSP's.
But whats really the point as thats been cracked now aswel...
I guess the preformance update was the reason for this, what would have made more sense is if they had suspended the manufacturing of PSP's for a couple of days whilst they worked on a minor security patch for Firmware 3.0 and shipped all PSP's off with that...
Anyway its great to see that their releasing the Giga Pack ( Nice Name by the way :P ).
Looks like a pretty sweet deal though theres no doubting that.

NEWS: Slight chance' for PSP price cut
There is a “slight chance” that Sony will drop the price of the PSP as a result of slowing PSP sales, according to a research report by Shawn Milne and Todd Greenwald, analysts at Friedman, Billings, Ramsey & Co., Inc.
“We do not expect a PS2 price cut due to solid sales at $149 and, perhaps, a price umbrella (due to the high price of Xbox 360 hardware and bundles). However, we believe there is a slight chance for a PSP price cut from $249, as sales have slowed somewhat and the Nintendo DS received a shot in the arm with the release of Nintendogs.”
